Red School of Music Fall Awards Ceremony 2020

Student & School Highlights

Intro: Chelsea & Paul Melcher

Welcome to the awards ceremony of this year’s recital! How this is gonna work is that we have two categories: we have the primary intermediate which is kindergarten through eighth grade and then we have the advanced which is high school nine through twelfth or beyond.

What you’ll see is we have different teachers that have a few different age groups and awards for each category and not every teacher has an award for each age group.

One of the requirements of the awards is that students have to be studying for about a year to be eligible for an award. And in that way we can look at them throughout the whole year it’s kind of hard to get a picture of their progress and their style and their characteristics based just on a few months and so we try to look at about a year’s worth before being considered for an award.

So if that’s not you yet, just hang in there it sounds like next year you can be eligible and we can’t wait to see you for that.

For our awards, we have our:

Most Improved Award

Go For It Award

Dedication Award

Character Award

Student of the Year Award

Some award recipients from the Fall 2020 Awards Ceremony.

It’s always very incredible to see all of our students perform and it’s very rewarding. I just think about all of the struggles that you’ve all faced with having to do work online learning how to do voice lessons and piano lessons online.

This is even something that we had to learn as well and our students being so flexible and figuring out ways to stay motivated and to continue to grow has been really admirable and special this year.

I want to say if you didn’t get an award today, I want you to know that we personally really value you and who you are as a talent as an individual, and don’t let that ever be in question.

So without further ado, we will announce our awards!
