Cellist Nikita Annenkov maintains a diverse career as an orchestral and chamber performer, freelancer and teacher. A native of Columbus, Ohio, Nikita regularly performs with Columbus Symphony, Toledo Symphony, Erie Philharmonic and Pro Musica Chamber Orchestra. Equally as comfortable in non-classical music genres, Nikita has performed cross-genre chamber music on board of Holland America Cruises to audiences around the world. Nikita regularly collaborates with local Columbus artists and venues, such as Columbus Museum of Art, Candlelight Series, Music on the Hill (Marysville, OH), Sunday at Central, as well as solo recitals with his wife pianist Yihan Zhang. Nikita is a passionate teacher who strives to bring out a self-sufficient and well-rounded musician in every student. Nikita has taught high school and college level lessons as a graduate teaching assistant at University of Illinois, coached chamber music at Columbus’ own Chamber Music Connection and more recently joined the RED School of Music in Hilliard, Ohio.
Nikita’s music journey began at Uspensky School of Music in his hometown of Tashkent, Uzbekistan. After seven years of studying cello with nation’s esteemed pedagogues and placing in several national competitions, Nikita and his family immigrated to the U.S. Nikita went on to study with members of Columbus Symphony cello section and was selected to participate in several music festivals, including Interlochen Center for the Arts (Interlochen, MI), Orford Music Academy (Orford, Canada), Chautauqua School of Music (Chautauqua, NY), the Chamber Music Institute at the Glenn Korff School of Music (Lincoln, NE) and NPR’s From The Top!.
Nikita received a B.M in Music Performance from Oberlin College and Conservatory and M.M from University of Illinois, studying under Amir Eldan and Dmitry Kouzov.

Jonathan is a Columbus native that has been playing music for over ten years. He has been very fortunate to have an amazing experience with all his past teachers who have helped him along the way. His goal is to provide that same level of support and enthusiasm when teaching others that he received when he was introduced to the world of music. He has many years of experience in the creative world of music, such as writing original compositions, recording in studio environments, and performing live for an audience.
Jonathan is a multi-instrumentalist, but specializes in guitar and drum set, which he has played professionally in a multitude of bands for many years.

Mackenzie Casper is an Instrumental Music education major at Otterbein University, going into her third year of college. Her primary instrument is the saxophone, and she has been a member of Otterbein’s wind ensemble, jazz ensemble, marching band, and saxophone quartet. She is an officer in multiple music fraternities and a student staff member of the marching band. Mackenzie believes in creating a positive learning environment and sharing her love of music with others. Alexa Rybinski has a Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance with emphasis in Opera/Musical Theater and a minor in Viola Performance from Capital University Conservatory of Music. She has performed with most of the Columbus professional and regional theaters. Favorite roles include: First Date (Casey), The Wild Party (Kate), Spring Awakening (Wendla), Shrek (Fiona), Little Women (Jo), Cabaret (Sally Bowles), Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella (Cinderella), Seussical (Gertrude), The Sound of Music (Maria), Mary Poppins (Mary), and Nunsense (Sister Amnesia). Alexa also works as a costumer around Columbus and has played in the pit for many musicals. Alexa has taught all levels of voice, violin, and viola private students for over 10 years.

Dylan has been playing guitar for 12 years and has studied styles including Rock, Blues and Jazz. Over the past 4 years, Dylan has performed and venues and festivals from coast to coast. Dylan has been fortunate to study and share a stage with some of the best guitar players including Robben Ford, Jeff McErlain, Matt Schofield and Artur Menezes.
Dylan recently released an EP of original material and is working on new material for future projects. Dylan is an endorsed artist with Ernie Ball Guitars and Magnatone amps.

Nick Blum is an instrumental music education student studying at The Ohio State University going into his third year of college. At OSU, Nick is a French horn primary and has been a member of the Symphonic Band and Ohio State University Marching Band (mellophone). He is from Hilliard, Ohio, and graduated from Hilliard Bradley High School in 2023. During his high school years, Nick was a member of Hilliard Bradley Marching Band, Jazz Band (trumpet), Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Choir (tenor), and was a member of Theater Troupe 7415. Hannah Stewart, soprano, is a Vocal Performance and Music Technology major at Capital University. She has performed with the Capital Opera/Musical Theatre Department, with which she performed in The 80’s Show, A New Brain, and Revelation and Reinvention, and she has also performed in Vignettes: Ellis Island. Additionally, she is a member of the Capital University’s Philomel and Chapel Choir, where she served as soprano section leader and choral administrator. Hannah is the recipient of Capital University’s Summer Scholars Award and Boyd Fund of 2024, when she spent a summer to develop and start her own business titled “The Performer Platform,” which provides students and faculty resources for the music classroom. Outside of the conservatory, she has been hired multiple times as a church musician, has worked with famous musical theater and opera singers and coaches, and will be studying abroad to work with faculty from top schools in the US and Europe.

Tori Cravens is a passionate musician based in Central Ohio. With a background in vocal performance, she has sung in a variety of settings, including as a founding member of the New Albany Symphony Chorus, where she has performed major works such as Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, Faure’s Requiem, and Handel’s Messiah in its entirety. Tori has also had the privilege of performing in international venues, including St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna, and was part of multiple solo and ensemble performances, including Copland’s Old American Songs.
Tori’s teaching journey is rooted in her extensive musical background. She has studied under Paula Trybus for seven years, where she developed her vocal technique and repertoire, and has performed in various choral groups throughout her life, including the Choral Schola at New Albany United Methodist Church. Tori is also an accomplished flutist, having pursued studies in flute performance at The Ohio State University, before focusing more fully on her vocal work.
As a new music teacher, Tori is excited to share her love for music with students. She is dedicated to fostering a positive and engaging environment for learners of all ages, focusing on vocal techniques, musicianship, and performance skills. Outside of her work as an educator, Tori is also a developer for an indie video game company, where she crafts narratives brimming with suspense and emotion.

Noted for his “colorful and flawless” performances, he has performed internationally in China, the Czech Republic, Ireland, Italy, and Poland as well as nationally in Aspen, Cleveland, Kansas City, Los Angeles, New York, and Washington D.C. Richard has appeared as soloist with the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra, Jefferson City Symphony Orchestra, Kent State University Orchestra, Longmont Symphony Orchestra, Medical Arts Symphony Orchestra, Midwest Chamber Ensemble, Shenandoah Conservatory Symphony Orchestra, and UMKC Conservatory Orchestra. His numerous awards and recognitions include the Jefferson City Symphony Orchestra Piano Competition in Missouri, the Naftzger Piano Award in Wichita, Kansas, and the Artist Presentation Society Auditions in St. Louis. Richard had the high honor to perform for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in Washington, D.C.
Having a special affinity for collaborating with vocalists in operatic and art song literature, he has worked with pianists Graham Johnson, Warren Jones, Martin Katz, and Ken Noda and vocalists Renée Fleming, Nancy Gustafson, Marilyn Horne, Karita Mattila, and Deborah Voigt. A highlight of Richard’s ever-evolving career was performing at Carnegie Hall as part of the final year of The Song Continues, a series of master classes and performances founded by the legendary Marilyn Horne. A proponent of new music, Richard has worked with noted American composers Mark Adamo, John Corigliano, John Harbison, Jake Heggie, Libby Larsen, Lowell Liebermann, and John Musto. He performed with other members of the UMKC Conservatory as part of the 2014 Beijing Modern Music.
As an educator, Richard has presented performances and master classes at various universities around the country. He also performs and teaches at the Brancaleoni International Music Festival in Piobbico, Italy. He is a frequent adjudicator for competitions and festivals. To celebrate the 250th year of Ludwig van Beethoven, Richard spearheaded the Beethoven 250 Series at Nicholls State University where he was on faculty. This eight-concert series presented the complete cycle of Beethoven sonatas featuring faculty and guest artists from around the world. Richard was awarded the honor of Distinguished Membership as a National Arts Associate of Sigma Alpha Iota for his contribution to the arts. He cherishes his time working with the next generation of musicians.
Richard received his Doctor of Musical Arts degree with internationally-renowned pianist John O’Conor at Shenandoah Conservatory, his Artist Certificate and Master of Music degree under the esteemed tutelage of Robert Weirich at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance, and his Bachelor of Music degree under Jerry Wong at Kent State University. Richard currently resides in Marysville, Ohio with his wife and soprano Sarah along with their daughter Lydia.

Throughout her time at Capital, she has been a part of both the Chapel Choir and Cantabile and employed at Saint Stephens Episcopal Church as a choral scholar. She has lots of theater, solo, and choral experience under her belt. Caitlin believes in creating a positive learning environment that allows students to grow and developed as musicians. Praised for her “elegant poetic virtuosity” and “subtle stylishness” (World Journal Newspaper, LA), pianist Yihan Zhang Annenkova began her piano journey at age three and gave her first public recital the following year. After winning numerous regional junior competitions in China, she was accepted to study with renowned pianist and composer Liu Shi Kun. At just nine years old, Yihan made her concerto debut.
In 2010, Yihan moved to the United States to pursue pre-college studies at Northwestern University with professor Alan Chow. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Italian-American virtuoso pianist James Tocco. She continues her artistic development under the mentorship of John Atkins, who worked closely with a remarkable circle of legendary musicians and composers, including Retana Scotto, James McCracken, Phillip Ramey, John Corigliano, and Samuel Barber.
Yihan has performed at prestigious venues including the National Center for the Performing Arts (Beijing), Beijing Concert Hall, Carnegie Hall, La Maison Française (Washington, D.C.), Zipper Hall (Los Angeles), Nichols Concert Hall (Chicago), and the Lewis Center for the Arts (Princeton, NJ). Notable highlights include her Carnegie Hall debut at Weill Recital Hall in 2013 and an all-Liszt recital on Vladimir Horowitz’s own Steinway 1940 Model D piano during its 2019 North American tour.
Now based in Columbus, Ohio, Yihan divides her time between collaborative and solo performances, teaching, and sharing her passion and inspirations with young pianists. Since moving to Columbus in 2020, she has collaborated with many local classical musicians, many of whom are from our beloved Columbus Symphony Orchestra. Beyond music, she is an avid abstract painter, photographer, and enjoys making latte art — inevitably leaving her pleasantly and perpetually overcaffeinated.

Beth is a Pittsburgh native who has always loved music, and studied violin and piano from an early age. She has played violin in school and community orchestras, for musicals, and as a church instrumentalist. She pursued a career in medicine and worked as a clinical pathologist at Ohio State. She is now retired from practicing medicine and is grateful to be spending more time with her family and her violin. Beth believes that there are a multitude of benefits to be gained from studying music at any age, and she looks forward to helping students learn the skills they need to play the music that they love.

At Capital, she was a member of both the Chapel Choir and Cantabile, and a former member of the New Albany Symphony Chorus. Richard is a lifelong resident of Columbus, OH. As a child, he began his music career singing with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra Children’s chorus where he learned sofege and tone production from a young age. He began playing piano in 3rd grade and French horn in 6th grade. After graduating from Grove City high School, he went to Capital University where he majored in music performance in voice and French horn. You can hear Richard around Columbus singing with the Columbus Symphony Chorus, Pro Arte Ohio and the St Brigid choir.

…she studied under Dr. Christine Isley-Farmer and her Masters in Music in voice performance from Shenandoah Conservatory where she studied under Nancy Gustafson. As a performer, she has received various awards and recognitions including 2013 Outstanding Vocalist from the MTSU Music Department, Finalist in the Orpheus National Competition, First Place in the Graduate Voice category of the Shenandoah Conservatory Soloist Competition, and received her first international win in January of 2019 at the Inner Mongolia International Classical Music Competition in China. She has performed individually for two celebrations honoring Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She performed with the Nashville Opera for two seasons, as well as the MTSU Opera, the Toronto Summer Opera Workshop, the Shenandoah Conservatory Opera, the Nicholls State University Opera, and the Chautauqua Institute, where she studied under the tutelage of Marlena Malas (Juilliard, Manhattan School of Music, The Curtis Institute).

Mr. Phil has been a music educator for over a decade, and currently serves as the Director of Bands at St. Charles and Director of Music at St. Catharine in Bexley, Ohio. He joined the Red School of Music in 2021 as a private lesson instructor and director of the Children’s Theatre Program. Phil holds a Master’s in Music Education from the University of Illinois and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance on the French Horn from Denison University. Mr. Phil lives in Westerville with his wife Allison, and two dogs Mack and Kam. During his time at Ohio State, he performed with the Marching Band, Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra, Pit Orchestra, and Symphonic Band.
Following his time at OSU, Dan enlisted in the U.S. Army and graduated with honors from the U.S. Army School of Music. Dan spent 6 years in the Army, playing with the 122nd Army band and serving as a bugler for over 500 Army funerals on the Army Honor Guard team. He actively performs all over the state as a tenor soloist and bass trombonist. His full time career is as an instrument repair technician, and is the Senior Repairman at a music store in Springfield, having spent the last 10 years repairing instruments. In his free time he loves competing in Strongman, spending time with his fiancé, and playing with the pets.

She enjoys performing and teaching a variety of music from opera to contemporary worship music. Kim has performed previously in many musicals including Guys and Dolls, the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and Songs for a New World. Her favorite role was playing ‘Jo’ in Little Women.
Kim and her husband Chris moved to Marysville in 2013. Since then, their home and hearts have grown by welcoming two precious children.

Classical piano, violin, and voice lessons as well as choir and orchestra filled her schedule for many years. Because of these experiences and her love for children, Sarah pursued a bachelor’s degree from Taylor University in Music Education. While attending Taylor, she participated in orchestra, chapel services and two choirs.
After a short period of teaching elementary music, Sarah dreamed of combining her interest in holistic health and psychology with music. In 2013, Sarah began her journey toward music therapy through Saint Mary of the Woods College. She completed various practicum placements and an internship in Indianapolis working with individuals of all ages and a variety of diagnoses. Sarah accepted a position with Dynamic Music Services, Inc. in 2017 after completing her equivalency degree from SMWC.
For the last 3 years, Sarah has served clients of all ages who have a developmental and/or intellectual disability. In this role, Sarah developed an enthusiasm for creating experiences to help individuals learn life skills through music. Whether it be through listening, recreating, improvising or composing, Sarah continues to create activities that engage individuals and meet their unique needs. Sarah is inspired to find an approach to connect with each individual and provide opportunities for their voice to be heard in the face of communication challenges.

Jaxon is a passionate musician who currently attends Bishop Watterson High School. He has had much experience in percussion, starting as an adolescent in middle school. Jaxon has since joined the Bishop Watterson Marching Eagles, playing the tenor drums. Becoming section leader as a Sophomore became one of his greatest accomplishments inside the Marching Band, as well as receiving 2 superior ratings at OMEA finals and qualifying twice in the tri-state marching band finals. He has travelled over the country, performing in various settings, including extensive parts of Ohio and Disney World in Orlando.
Jaxon has since joined the jazz band and pit orchestra, playing the drum set, making it one of his most experienced instruments. His understanding of the drum set has grown since playing on stage for multiple events. Along with this, he plays alto and baritone saxophone for concert band and has been rated superior in the state competition for concert bands. Jaxon has played for multiple events, such as fundraisers and charities, to help raise money for his band.
Along with his understanding of his instruments, he has also been in a deep study of music. He has taken numerous band classes, as well as a music theory class, in which he learned fundamentals of music, to the most advanced structures. By doing so, Jaxon’s understanding of music and his instruments has developed into a well-built platform for teaching.
