Samantha McGonigal is a senior at Otterbein University, where she will graduate with a Bachelors of Music in voice performance in May. She is trained in both classical and commercial voice, and has a particular interest in opera. Her operatic roles include Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi, Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel, and Bastienne in Bastien und Bastienne. Throughout her time at Otterbein, she has held several leadership positions, serving as president of the Otterbein Concert Choir from 2019 to 2020, as well as the soprano section leader from 2018 to 2020. She is an active member of the Westerville and greater Columbus community, collaborating on performances with musicians around the area and serving as a choral scholar at St. Albans Episcopal Church in Bexley. Her voice teachers include Dr. Karen Eckenroth, Chelsea Hart Melcher, and Krista Hartmann.
Samantha is an alumni of Marysville High School. While attending MHS, she was a member of the Marysville Swingers Unlimited and participated in Symphonic Choir and a capella choir. She is excited to be teaching in the community that helped her love of music to flourish, and she hopes to impart some of that love on her students!
