Brought to you through the Union County Foundation in memory of Maria Jeric.
Sarah Jeric, Program Director

Who was Maria Jeric?
Maria Theresa Jeric was the daughter of Rick and Theresa Jeric and the sister of Richard (Sarah) Jeric and Chris (Joce) Jeric. On Sunday, August 13, 2023, after a courageous 16-month fight with adrenal cancer, she passed away at the age of 26. She graduated from St. Brigid of Kildare School (2011), Bishop Watterson High School (2015), Miami University (2019), and Ohio Dominican University (2021). Maria proudly worked for Stella Primary Care as a Physician Assistant despite her illness, and her patients adored her.
Maria excelled in everything. She played tennis in high school and loved to snowboard and rock climb. She also played flute, sang, and perfected many Spotify playlists for various occasions. She loved music, and would frequently emphasize the importance of music’s role in brain and personal development. She herself was a primary example of the positive impact
Maria was selfless and giving, kind and compassionate, caring and outgoing, funny and witty, and inspiring beyond words because of her toughness and determination to never give up.
The Purpose
To bring music to those who are unable to access it due to physical or financial limitation.
The Vision
To create an organization that sends music therapists to memory care centers throughout the greater Columbus area, starting in our home of Marysville; that sends students enrolled in private lessons to senior living facilities to perform in recitals; and that pays for lessons for students whose families would not normally be able to afford them.
The Mission
Our mission is to allow music to alleviate anxiety and bring joy to those living in assisted living facilities and memory care centers and provide instruction to those whose parents cannot afford private music lessons.
the programs
Memory Care
Through our memory care program, music therapists will provide a 45-minute session using tools to help stimulate parts of the brain that have been impacted by dementia. These tools include holding hands and singing face to face, using musical instruments, and dancing to increase enjoyment and relieve anxiety.
Where will my funds go?
Your donated funds will go to the musician providing the memory care session.

Private Lessons
Remembering Red will provide financial aid towards private lessons to students in the Marysville area whose families cannot afford them. These lessons will be weekly 30-minute sessions with a teacher and instrument of the student’s choice.
Where will my funds go?
Your donated funds will cover the price of private lessons at any accredited music school in Union County.
private music therapy sessions
A music therapist will spend 45 minutes with an individual patient, using music to manage a range of conditions. These sessions are tailored to the needs of the patient. No musical skills are needed and people of all ages can benefit.
Where will my funds go?
Your donated funds will help cover the cost of private music therapy to families that qualify in Union County.
