During his time at Ohio State, Noah has played in many big bands and small group settings on a variety of instruments. While his primary instrument is saxophone, he has also spent a great deal of time touring playing euphonium and trombone with the Music City Drum Corps (Nashville, TN) and Guardians Drum and Bugle Corps (Houston, TX). Noah’s performing career has also led him to spend 3 years with Matrix Performing Arts (Akron, OH) as a cymbal performer. All of these experiences combined have led him to be well versed in a wide variety of styles from jazz to funk and pop to classical. Noah’s primary philosophy as an instructor is to help his students develop a sound that is unique to them and reflects their interests and influences, while exposing them to new works to progress their musicianship.

Throughout high school and college, Jordan has been fostering a passion for teaching music and sharing his love for music with others. During his time at Ohio State, he has played for multiple concert bands, the trombone choir and The Ohio State Men’s Glee Club. Jordan maintains an active performance schedule, performing in local church choirs, British brass bands, and other ensembles. Jordan also has experience teaching privately and in schools as a brass technician and in marching band camps. As an educator, Jordan inspires growth by fostering a love for music. He is always excited to teach music and he hopes for his students to be excited to learn about music and grow as musicians and as people.

While studying at OSU Joel has performed in numerous jazz ensembles, musicals, and directed his group “The Jazz Club Big Band.” Since high school, Joel has worked as a freelance musician performing throughout the Tri-State on multiple woodwind and string instruments. He is equally comfortable in contemporary pop, rock, jazz, and classical settings. Joel has been teaching his private studio as well as summer music camps for years. His teaching focuses on helping his students find their musical voice and passion for the art form. Joel uses student’s musical preferences to design a curriculum that engages them while expanding their musical horizons.

During his time at Ohio State, he performed with the Marching Band, Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra, Pit Orchestra, and Symphonic Band.
Following his time at OSU, Dan enlisted in the U.S. Army and graduated with honors from the U.S. Army School of Music. Dan spent 6 years in the Army, playing with the 122nd Army band and serving as a bugler for over 500 Army funerals on the Army Honor Guard team. He actively performs all over the state as a tenor soloist and bass trombonist. His full time career is as an instrument repair technician, and is the Senior Repairman at a music store in Springfield, having spent the last 10 years repairing instruments. In his free time he loves competing in Strongman, spending time with his fiancé, and playing with the pets.

...and a graduate of Denison University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance on the French Horn. For the last six years, Phil has been a band director in central Illinois teaching students from beginners through high school, teaching concert bands, jazz band, small ensembles, and assisting with the high school marching band.
During his time at the University of Illinois, Phil was a graduate assistant with the Marching Illini, and the director of the Women’s Basketball Band, and Women’s Volleyball Band. Phil, his wife Allison, and their big dog Duke have recently relocated to central Ohio because Allison is going to be the Writing Center Director at the Ohio State University! Phil is very excited to be a part of the Red School of Music team, and looking forward to meeting all of the wonderful musicians along the way.
