Classical piano, violin, and voice lessons as well as choir and orchestra filled her schedule for many years. Because of these experiences and her love for children, Sarah pursued a bachelor’s degree from Taylor University in Music Education. While attending Taylor, she participated in orchestra, chapel services and two choirs.

After a short period of teaching elementary music, Sarah dreamed of combining her interest in holistic health and psychology with music. In 2013, Sarah began her journey toward music therapy through Saint Mary of the Woods College. She completed various practicum placements and an internship in Indianapolis working with individuals of all ages and a variety of diagnoses. Sarah accepted a position with Dynamic Music Services, Inc. in 2017 after completing her equivalency degree from SMWC.

For the last 3 years, Sarah has served clients of all ages who have a developmental and/or intellectual disability. In this role, Sarah developed an enthusiasm for creating experiences to help individuals learn life skills through music. Whether it be through listening, recreating, improvising or composing, Sarah continues to create activities that engage individuals and meet their unique needs. Sarah is inspired to find an approach to connect with each individual and provide opportunities for their voice to be heard in the face of communication challenges.
